Salzkammergut is increasingly focusing on internationalization
Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic are among the main markets of origin in the Salzkammergut. In order to gain increasingly in future also guests from other countries for a holiday in the Salzkammergut region, some pioneering measures are planned.
For example, the ARGE Switzerland. This working group already consists of 31 members (4 and 5-star hotels and infrastructure operations) and 8 tourism regions, who initially joined forces for three years. The aim is bundled with funds to make the Salzkammergut in Switzerland as a holiday destination known and offer an attractive overall product. A leaflet Salzkammergut in the NZZ (Neue Zürcher Zeitung) is already in preparation. Also a press trip with the Swiss media representatives will be held in September 2015.
Another measure in the course of internationalization is the cooperation with the Arab tour operator Al Awadhi Travels. The Salzkammergut Touristik has started two years ago to offer their services on the Arab market. Now for the first time - after a very intensive effort - a collaboration with Mr. Abdulrahim Alawadhi succeeded. For a week he spent with two employees on a study trip in the Salzkammergut, to personally convince yourself of the uniqueness of the Salzkammergut. To conclude his trip him a certificate was handed over as "Salzkammergut Kenner" in mine tunnels Hallstatt. "We hope that we will see more Arab guests welcome in the Salzkammergut region in the future through this cooperation and to thank all the partners who are supportive of such projects with it," says Mag. Michael Spechtenhauser, Managing STMG.
