St. Gilgen is a well-known holiday resort at the lake Wolfgangsee.
A beautiful scenery, a wonderful lake. Nature, as far as the eye can see. Recommended is a trip to the Zwölferhorn mountain (hiking or by cable car). Enjoy the view over the region Wolfgangsee from the Zwölferhorn to St. Wolfgang or Strobl. Make a boat tour to one of the villages around the lake, or make an excursion to the Postalm (2nd largest high alpine platform of europe) .
St. Gilgen lies at 545 m above sea level and has 3.400 inhabitants.
The distance to St. Wolfgang is 18 km, to Bad Ischl 23 km and to Salzburg 28 km.

Ski areas for beginners and advanced at Faistenau, Gaissau-Hintersee, cross country skiing along the lake, snow shoe hiking at the Zwölferhorn are famous winter sport activities.

Good located to the Wolfgangsee, this hostel with its high standard is one of the most beautiful hostels in our area. Opposite the hostel there is the public beach.
A mini golf course and a pit pat field, a bicycle rent shop and the rowing club are opposite the hostel as well.
The local heritage museum and the Mozart fountain are within walking distance.
There are trips to Bad Ischl (Kaiservilla - summer residence of the emperor Franz Joseph), to Salzburg (Fortress Hohensalzburg, castle Hellbrunn and watergames, the house of nature and the open air museum in Großgmain) and trips around the region of the Salzkammergut are special for each holiday.
