Bad Ischl is located in the centre of the Salzkammergut.
St. Wolfgang is about 16 km away, to the World Heritage region of Hallstatt-Dachstein about 21 km, and the festival city of Salzburg about 51 km.
The operetta city of Bad Ischl lies 468 m above sea level and has approximately 14.100 inhabitants. The emperor spent more than 50summers here. In the immediate vicinity of the town you can use a number of sports facilities suiting your personal interests.
The ski areas in the district have numerous cable cars and lifts, challenging runs for experts and beginners and of course for our children - an ideal ski resort. Bad Ischl offers a balanced and attractive range of winter sports, culture, entertainment and a cozy gathering. Peaceful and long walks in idyllic snowy forests and horse rides through the beautiful winter landscape are among the most refreshing experiences.
