Gmunden is situated on the north end of Lake Traunsee and it is one of the most beautiful cities in Austria. Stylish streets and squares with old houses and villa’s, a wonderful marine Esplanade, shops and the beautiful location make the health resort a true treasure box. By boat, on the 2nd largest lake in Upper Austria, it goes along the northern shore where you can discover the cultural treasures of Lake Traunsee. The captain shows you the magnificent, mansions Castles originating from German and Italian. Of course, lake, mountains and cities will be explained too. Ideal to win an unforgettable impression of the Lake Traunsee and its surroundings.

The Traunseebahn is a real „bummeltrain“. In a leisurely pace fields, meadows and forests pull over on the narrow gauge railway window. The trail follows the route of the old horse-drawn railway to Engelhof and on to Eisengattern, where you go past the millennial tree „Linde“. In Kirchham finally is the terminus for the „Bratlzug“. Within a few minutes you will be welcome from the „Bratlwirt“ personally. The head of the house has already prepared a tasty pork roast for you. With it they serve steaming dumplings and cabbage or lettuce - as is common in the enjoyment of the Province of Upper Austria!
